Yesterday (my wife has been out of town - so I am doing a ton of gun stuff and watching all the old good westerns on TV at night) I got it out, stuck it in the vise, and filled the bore with wipe-out. Last week I decided to give it another shot. I ran a little powder solvent through the bore and stuck it back in the safe. At 100 yards groups were in the 3" range with both handloads and some old factory ammo. Last summer I took it out and scoped it, free-floated and glass-bedded the barreled action, and sighted it in. I ended up building on a differen action and this thing has sat in the safe occupying space ever since. Some years back I picked up this rifle, rusted up and cheap, for use as a donor action on a rifle build. ![]()
